Transmedia IP Project Expands Across Webtoon, Animation, and Virtual Musicians

MONOPLAN, a content IP production company led by CEO Woojin Yang, announced that its original animated series project, WIMP, has entered into a script development agreement with a global OTT platform, marking the beginning of the project’s next stage of development for international audiences.

WIMP is a dystopian action drama set in Gotica, a futuristic city where music—particularly electronic dance music (EDM)—has been outlawed by law. The story explores the conflict between an underground movement fighting to preserve musical freedom and the powerful authorities seeking to suppress it, addressing universal themes of freedom, control, resistance, and self-expression.

The animated project is currently being developed as an eight-episode series. The story centers on UNO, a DJ and key figure within the underground resistance operating from the secret club Bunker Buster, and ZERO, an elite enforcer tasked with hunting him down. As twin brothers standing on opposite sides of the conflict, their rivalry drives the emotional and dramatic core of the series.

Beyond animation, WIMP is being developed as a transmedia IP franchise spanning webtoons, music, character-driven content, and future entertainment experiences. The project is also scheduled to launch as a webtoon, expanding its universe and storytelling across multiple platforms.

One of WIMP’s most distinctive features is its integration of music into the franchise strategy. The project’s main characters are expected to debut as virtual musicians, allowing audiences to experience the music of the series both within the fictional world and in real life. Through original music releases and character-driven performances, MONOPLAN aims to create a new model that bridges animation, music, and digital entertainment.

Under the script development agreement, MONOPLAN will continue refining the series’ story, characters, and world-building for a global audience. The company also plans to move forward with pilot production, webtoon publication, and music content releases as part of the broader franchise rollout.

“WIMP is more than an animated series,” said Woojin Yang, CEO of MONOPLAN. “It is a transmedia project where storytelling, music, and characters organically coexist within a shared universe. Through this development agreement, we aim to build WIMP into a globally competitive original IP originating from Korea.”

MONOPLAN specializes in developing next-generation entertainment IPs that combine animation, music, and character-driven storytelling. The company plans to position WIMP as its flagship global franchise and expand the project across multiple content and entertainment platforms.
