EVERETT, Wash. – July 24, 2026 – PTX Exchange, the international money transfer platform of US-based PTX Group, today announced the launch of its remittance service to Mexico. The expansion gives people in the United States a new way to send money to family and businesses in Mexico, one of the largest remittance markets in the world.
Sending money across borders remains costly for many families. The World Bank has estimated that the average cost of a remittance is around 6% of the amount sent. According to PTX Exchange, its service applies a flat 1.2% fee on transfers between the United States and Latin America, which the company says is lower than the currency spreads of many traditional providers that, it says, can reach 3%. The company also reports that 90% of its transfers are completed in under a minute.
PTX Exchange says it runs on established financial technology rather than digital assets. The company operates as a Money Services Business registered with the US Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN), and it says it works with US banking partners, including Cross River Bank, to move funds and process payments. According to the company, its platform uses encryption to help keep customer data secure.
The company describes its approach as “High Tech, High Touch.” Alongside its mobile app, PTX Exchange says customers can get human support and start transfers through WhatsApp in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, so they can be served in their own language.
“Sending money home should be simple, clear, and quick,” said Darley Tomaz, co-founder of PTX Group. “Many immigrant families lose part of their hard work to hidden fees and slow service. We built PTX Exchange to offer modern technology that helps keep costs low, together with real people who can help when it matters. Bringing the service to Mexico is an important step for the families and small businesses we serve.”
Tomaz moved to the United States from Brazil, where he had led fraud-prevention work in the country’s financial sector. In 2022, he founded Anchor Insurance, now PTX Insurance, in Everett, Washington. PTX Exchange is part of the wider PTX Group, which also includes PTX Insurance and PTX Growth, bringing money transfer and insurance services together in one place.
With the Mexico launch, the company says it aims to reach 10,000 active clients by the first quarter of 2027 as it grows across the United States and Latin America region.
