Long Beach Educator Bridget Gengler Releases New Children’s Book Inspired By Her Students

Long Beach, CA – Author and educator Bridget Gengler released her book You Have a Story to Tell!, inspired by all the students she has taught over the past three decades as an educator at Long Beach Unified School District.
You Have a Story to Tell! serves as a platform for the diverse voices of young students. Created in collaboration with illustrator Zoe Ranucci, the book reflects the lived experiences, cultures, and identities of elementary school children, reminding readers that every story matters.
“Uplifting, affirming, and beautifully written—You Have a Story to Tell! is a celebration of voice, courage, and connection. This empowering book illustrates that every story matters and every voice holds power . . . A must-have for every classroom, home, and heart that values belonging, bravery, and expression.” – Lainie Rowell, bestselling author, award-winning educator, and international keynote speaker
“Watching Bridget’s passion for writing manifest in a book dedicated to her students is a testament to the educator she is. For as long as I’ve known her, she’s always encouraged students to tell their story, and I’m excited that that message will now reach children and classrooms outside of LBUSD.” – Dr. Sunday Dominguez, Principal LBUSD
You Have a Story to Tell! encourages students to embrace who they are and speak with confidence. It reinforces that students are smart and driven, and that they can nourish their dreams. Perfect for classrooms, families, and conversations about identity and inclusion, this book opens the door to meaningful dialogue centered around self-expression and the critical importance of making space for all voices – especially children’s voices.
The book is available now.
