David Manasher Raises Awareness for Community Support in Addiction Recovery
David Manasher, a real estate developer and designer specializing in commercial hospitality development, is using his platform to raise awareness about the importance of community support for individuals and families affected by alcohol and drug addiction.
Manasher, who was born in Baku, Azerbaijan, in the former Soviet Union, immigrated to the United States in 1991. After settling in Fort Worth and spending his teen years in Arlington and Dallas, he built a career shaped by adaptation, discipline, and long-term learning.
“Coming to America taught me that you have to adapt quickly,” Manasher said. “Nothing is handed to you. You have to learn, work hard, and keep moving forward.”
That belief now guides his interest in helping others through difficult transitions. Alongside his work in real estate development, hospitality development, restaurant renovation, and commercial build-outs, Manasher has volunteered with synagogues in Florida and New York. He has also supported people dealing with alcohol and drug addiction disorders.
“Everyone faces challenges at some point,” Manasher said. “If you can help someone get through a difficult period, that’s meaningful.”
The need remains serious. In the United States, substance use disorders affect millions of people each year. Federal data shows that many people who need treatment or support do not receive it. Drug overdose deaths remain a major public health issue, even with recent national declines.
Manasher believes public awareness can help reduce stigma and encourage more people to see recovery as a community issue, not a private failure.
“Every project starts with a problem that needs to be solved,” Manasher said. “You have to think about the people involved, the goal, and how the structure will function every day.”
He applies that same thinking to community support. In development, strong foundations matter. In recovery, support systems matter too.
Manasher’s background gives him a practical view of long-term progress. His work in hospitality development requires planning, communication, and patience. Those same values can apply to people rebuilding their lives.
“The most successful projects are usually the ones where everyone understands the goal from the beginning,” he said. “Clarity saves time and prevents problems later.”
Manasher is encouraging people to become more aware of local recovery resources, faith-based support groups, nonprofit organizations, and community programs already serving people in need. He also believes families, friends, and neighbors can play an important role by treating addiction with compassion and dignity.
“A great-looking space isn’t enough,” Manasher said. “The design has to support the business behind it.”
For Manasher, that idea extends beyond buildings. A healthier community requires more than public concern. It requires steady support, education, and people willing to stay involved.
His message is simple: learn more, listen more, and recognize that recovery often depends on the strength of the people and institutions around someone.
“The biggest lesson I’ve learned is to stay curious,” Manasher said. “Industries change, markets change, and technology changes. The people who keep learning are the ones who continue growing.”
As Manasher continues his work in commercial real estate and prepares to publish a book, he hopes more people will see service as part of leadership.
