Bower Group sponsored the 3rd Annual SMO Foundation Golf Outing and Benefit Dinner, reflecting a shared commitment to giving back and strengthening local communities.

Businesses have the opportunity to make an impact that extends well beyond the services they provide. For Mark Siegwald, supporting local organizations is one way to help build stronger communities and create lasting relationships.

That belief was reflected in Bower Group’s sponsorship of the 3rd Annual SMO Foundation Golf Outing and Benefit Dinner, held on June 15, 2026. The annual event brings together community members and supporters to raise awareness and support for the Shawn O’Connell Foundation’s mission while fostering meaningful connections among local businesses and families.

As a Senior Consultant with Bower Group, Siegwald has spent more than 24 years helping organizations recover after fires, floods, storms, and other property losses. While his professional work focuses on restoring buildings and helping clients navigate complex claims, he believes businesses also have a responsibility to invest in the communities they serve.

“I’ve always believed that being part of a community means doing more than showing up for work each day,” Siegwald said. “Supporting events like the SMO Foundation Golf Outing is an opportunity to give back, meet people who are making a difference, and contribute to something larger than your own business.”

The sponsorship reflects Bower Group’s ongoing commitment to supporting organizations that create positive local impact. While the company specializes in property damage consulting and restoration services, Siegwald believes community involvement is an important part of responsible business leadership.

“In my career, I’ve seen how important strong communities become during difficult times,” he said. “Whether someone is recovering from a disaster or facing another challenge, people rely on one another. Organizations like the Shawn O’Connell Foundation help strengthen those connections long before they’re needed.”

The golf outing and benefit dinner also provided an opportunity for businesses, community leaders, and supporters to come together around a shared purpose. Siegwald says those relationships often become just as valuable as the event itself.

“Events like this remind us that business is ultimately about people,” he said. “You build relationships by showing up consistently, supporting worthwhile causes, and becoming part of the communities where you live and work.”

Throughout his career, Siegwald has worked alongside insurance carriers, contractors, municipalities, healthcare organizations, schools, and commercial property owners across the country. While every project is different, one lesson has remained consistent.

“The strongest outcomes almost always come from collaboration,” he said. “Whether you’re restoring a building or supporting a local nonprofit, people accomplish more when they work together toward a common goal.”

Siegwald also encourages businesses of every size to find opportunities to become involved locally. Community support does not always require large-scale initiatives, he says. Even participating in annual events, sponsoring local organizations, or volunteering time can make a meaningful difference.

“Every business has something it can contribute,” he said. “Sometimes that’s financial support. Sometimes it’s volunteering or helping raise awareness. The important thing is finding ways to stay engaged because those efforts strengthen the communities we all depend on.”

For Siegwald, sponsoring the 3rd Annual SMO Foundation Golf Outing and Benefit Dinner represents more than supporting a single event. It reflects a broader philosophy that successful businesses should invest in the places and people that have helped them succeed.

“At the end of the day, we’re all connected by the communities we live and work in,” he said. “When businesses support organizations that are making a positive impact, everyone benefits. Those partnerships create stronger relationships, and stronger relationships build stronger communities.”
