Michael Vaughan Would Be 10: Family Marks Five Years Since His Abduction and Pleads for Answers
FRUITLAND, Idaho – July 24, 2026 – On Monday, July 27, 2026, Brandi Vaughan, mother of missing Fruitland child Michael Joseph Vaughan, will hold a public press conference on the steps of the Fruitland Police Department. The date marks five years since Michael vanished from his neighborhood. Michael would have turned 10 last month.
Brandi Vaughan will address members of the media, the Fruitland community, and those believed to have knowledge of Michael’s abduction. The press conference comes as one of four individuals connected to the investigation is currently facing murder charges, while many questions surrounding Michael’s fate remain unanswered.
“For five years, we have searched for answers,” Vaughan said. “As Michael’s mother, I refuse to stop seeking the truth. Every birthday and holiday without him is a reminder of what has been taken from our family, but it is also a reminder that we must continue fighting for justice. We will find our son and bring him home.”
The press conference will focus on Michael’s case, the ongoing pursuit of accountability, and a direct appeal to anyone with information who has remained silent. Vaughan is expected to speak about the emotional toll of the last five years while renewing calls for truth and closure.
Following the press conference, community members, supporters, and advocates will gather for a public birthday vigil honoring Michael at Fruitland City Park later that evening. The event will provide an opportunity for the community to come together in remembrance, reflection, and solidarity with Michael’s family.
