The entrepreneur’s Devine Locs books connect natural-hair culture with creativity, confidence and screen-free relaxation.

TAMPA, Fla. – August 7, 2026 – Tameka Clark spent years helping people care for and appreciate their natural hair.

Then she began asking a different question: Where were the books that celebrated it?

That question became part of the inspiration behind Clark’s independently published coloring books, journals, trackers, educational titles and fiction.

Her publishing catalog includes the Devine Locs Adult Coloring Book series, a children’s edition celebrating girls with locs, natural-hair-themed coloring books, journals and educational resources. The official series spelling is Devine Locs.

The books turn locs, braids, Afros, crowns and textured beauty into artwork that readers can color, personalize and share.

“I wanted people to see natural hair represented as art,” Clark said. “I wanted locs, braids and textured beauty to have a place on the page.”

Clark’s publishing work includes titles such as Are Locks Right for You?, BEE NATURAL LOCKS Daily Tracker, Devine Locs: Adult Coloring Book, Devine Locs Adult Coloring Book Vol. 2, Devine Locs Adult Coloring Book Vol. 3, Devine Locs Coloring Book, Kids Version, Devine Afro Beauty Coloring Book, Devine Afro Beauty: Adult Coloring Book Vol. 2, Devine Braids: Adult Coloring Book, Queens with Crowns, Strength and Dignity: A Journal for Black Women, Seven’s Merge, Seven’s Merge 2 and With Pain Comes Strength.

Clark’s growing catalog demonstrates how one professional specialty can become the foundation for several creative businesses. Salon knowledge became education. Education became products. Products and culture became books.

The books also created another way for Clark’s message to travel beyond Tampa. A reader does not need to visit the salon to encounter the creativity, representation and encouragement connected with Bee Natural Locks.

“This was never only about hair,” Clark said. “Hair can carry identity, culture, creativity and confidence. The books allow people to interact with those ideas in their own way.”

As part of the campaign, Clark is inviting readers to participate in the Color Your Crown Challenge.

Participants can color a page inspired by natural hair, record a short video and share what their crown represents to them.

Suggested prompt: My crown represents __________.

The fourth and final release will reveal how Clark carried her entrepreneurial mindset into an entirely different industry and launched VASS Supplies LLC.
