Heartland Soccer Set to Welcome Thousands for Fall Kick Off Challenge
OVERLAND PARK AND OLATHE, Kan. – Aug. 14, 2026 – Heartland Soccer Association, the largest youth soccer league and tournament host in the United States, will welcome thousands of players, coaches and families to the Kansas City metro for the 2026 Fall Kick Off Challenge, Aug. 14-16 at the Scheels Overland Park Soccer Complex and Garmin Olathe Soccer Complex.
The three-day tournament will feature 190 teams from six states, giving teams an opportunity to test themselves against regional competition early in the fall season.
Visiting teams and families are expected to generate an estimated $3.7 million in regional economic impact, supporting hotels, restaurants, retailers and other businesses throughout Overland Park, Olathe and the surrounding Kansas City metro.
“The Fall Kick Off Challenge is a great way for teams to begin their fall season against strong competition,” said Shane Hackett, executive director of Heartland Soccer Association. “We’re excited to welcome players and families from across the region to Kansas City and provide them with a first-class tournament experience at two of the area’s premier soccer facilities.”
Media are invited to cover the tournament throughout the weekend. Games kick off Friday at 5:30 p.m., with full-day match schedules beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
The Fall Kick Off Challenge is part of Heartland Soccer’s 2026 fall tournament series. Following this weekend’s event, Heartland will host the Heartland Midwest Classic over Labor Day weekend, followed by the Midwest All Boys and Midwest All Girls tournaments and the Children’s Mercy Heartland Invitational Girls and Boys weekends to round out the fall tournament season.
