Moroccan Filmmaker Ahmed Ismail Krim Enters Pre-Production on Psychological Thriller SUBJECT 52
VILNIUS, Lithuania – August 21, 2026 – Moroccan filmmaker Ahmed Ismail Krim has entered pre-production on SUBJECT 52, an independent psychological thriller he plans to shoot in Vilnius, Lithuania, in late 2026.
The short film follows a talented young football player who accepts a mysterious, high-paying job that requires him to do nothing but show up. The comfort and money it brings gradually cost him the passion and talent that once defined his future.
Krim has completed the screenplay and is now preparing the project for production. The finished film is expected to run over 15 minutes. Further details about the story and visual approach will be released later in production.
The project marks another step in Krim’s move from technology into filmmaking. Originally from Morocco, he studied and worked in full-stack web development before deciding in 2024 to redirect his career toward filmmaking and visual storytelling. He is now studying Video & Media Production at SMK University of Applied Sciences in Vilnius, working across directing, cinematography, photography,editing, and post-production while building an independent filmmaking practice in Lithuania.
At CECHAS Video Production Company, Krim contributed editing support to the investigative documentary 1 KG. MEXICO., reviewing dialogue and voice-over clarity and examining how narration, structure, and visual sequences worked together to communicate meaning.
His photographs have been published on PhotoVogue following curatorial review. In October 2025, he was named winner of the ReGo – Meaningful Journeys photo contest, organized by SMK University of Applied Sciences to mark World Tourism Day, which recognized his work for creativity, relevance to the theme, and interpretation of regenerative tourism.
“With SUBJECT 52, I want to explore what happens when a person gets everything they think they want, but gradually loses the thing that gave their life meaning,” said Krim. “The film is an important step in developing my voice as a director and exploring the kind of stories I want to tell.”
