EasyKind Medicare Publishes Pennsylvania Medigap Rate Index Showing a $157.83 Monthly Spread on Identical Plan G Coverage
Cherry Hill, NJ – August 24, 2026 – EasyKind Medicare has published a Pennsylvania Medigap rate index showing that 28 carriers selling identical Medicare Supplement Plan G coverage file monthly rates from $137.68 to $295.51 for a 65-year-old, a $157.83 spread, based on CSG Actuarial filed-rate data as of July 12, 2026. Plan N follows the same pattern: 28 carriers, $114.51 to $228.18, a $113.67 spread. The benefit is standardized by federal law. The price is not.
Mutual of Omaha shows the clearest trend in the dataset. The carrier filed five consecutive annual Plan G increases in Pennsylvania: 3%, then 5%, then 12%, then 19%, then 19% again, effective May 2026. Its filed rate now stands at $248.26 a month, 80.3% above the state’s cheapest Plan G for identical benefits. Humana’s Pennsylvania block moved similarly, filing 7.42% in October 2024 and 19.53% in November 2025. Not every carrier tracked the same way. Bankers Fidelity’s Pennsylvania rate rose only about 11% cumulatively over five years, including a 0% filing in November 2025.
Most Pennsylvania Medigap carriers price using attained-age rating, so premiums climb with age on top of any new filing. A resident who bought Plan G at 65 and never rechecked the market can end up paying for years of increases a competing carrier never filed.
