On June 14, the three-day 26th Xuyi Crayfish Festival officially came to a close. Throughout the Crayfish Festival, the whole county buzzed with lively street scenes and throngs of visitors. This grand feast integrating industry, gourmet food, culture and vitality left all attendees lingering and full of praise.

On the morning of June 12, a parade themed “Dream Parade through Landscape, Crayfish Gather in Duliang” kicked off first. Nearly 800 amateur performers formed distinctive processions, marching from the Crayfish Festival Square to Kejie Street. Along the parade route, free benefits were handed out simultaneously; visitors could scan QR codes for a chance to win crayfish banquet tickets, crayfish gift packs, combined scenic spot passes and more. Held for two consecutive days with varied routes offering unique experiences to the masses, the parade drew nearly ten thousand masses who either followed the procession or stopped to watch.

As night fell, brilliant lights lit up the Crayfish Festival Square. Unlike previous years, rows of long tables were neatly arranged across the square this year, each set with pots of Xuyi crayfish seasoned with thirteen-spice, garlic puree and other flavours filling the air. Fourteen crayfish vendors catered non-stop to diners. Diners sat face to face, and the jubilant crayfish banquet got into full swing. The crayfish banquet ran for three days. Incomplete statistics show that over 50,000 diners flocked to the crayfish banquet site, among which out-of-countydiners accounted for more than 56%, with a total of 120 tons of crayfish sold over the three days. Beyond the culinary delight, the on-site audio-visual performances also delivered one highlight after another. For the first time, a full-view four-sided stage was provided for this crayfish banquet, with audiences seated all around to enjoy an immersive 360-degree viewing experience. The original crayfish-themed dance whipped the crowd into a frenzy.

During the festival, Xuyi launched an all-inclusive benefit gift pack for the crayfish banquet, featuring premium crayfish, exclusive seasonings, drinks, snacks and custom backpacks printed with crayfish motifs.
