ABUJA, Nigeria – September 8, 2026 – <\/strong>The Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas, Pi-CNG, has approved the conversion of 100 ambulances to Compressed Natural Gas under the CNG4HEALTHCARE Initiative.<\/p>\n

The approval was announced on Friday in Abuja by Dr. Noel Akpata, Founder\/National Coordinator of CNG4HEALTHCARE.<\/p>\n

According to the statement, the conversion is intended to reduce operating costs for emergency medical services and support the federal government’s energy transition policy.<\/p>\n

CNG4HEALTHCARE is a health-energy program implemented in collaboration with Pi-CNG, and the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Health.<\/p>\n

The initiative seeks to convert emergency medical vehicles to CNG to lower fuel expenditure and improve vehicle uptime.<\/p>\n

A joint press briefing to formally launch the initiative will be held at the headquarters of the Presidential Initiative on CNG in Abuja.<\/p>\n

The Special Adviser to the President on Health, Dr Salma Ibrahim Anas is scheduled to deliver the keynote address.<\/p>\n

Dr. Shamsudeen Usman, former Minister of National Planning and Chairman of MOFI, will chair the event.<\/p>\n

Diaspora and private sector partners will participate in this phase of the Initiative.<\/p>\n

Details on sponsorship and partnership structures will be released after the press briefing.<\/p>\n
