Mexico City, Sept. 11, 2026. — Dr. Francisco Suárez Hernández, Director of Public Affairs and Strategic Relations at FEMSA and former chair of the World Environment Center, has published his first book with LID Editorial: Travesía hacia un mundo sostenible<\/em> (A Journey Toward a Sustainable World), with a foreword by José Antonio Fernández Carbajal, Chairman of the Board of FEMSA. The book is currently available in Spanish.<\/p>\n

The work, the result of over four years of effort, posits a clear thesis: the perceived conflict between economic growth and sustainability is false, and companies that perpetuate this idea jeopardize their own long-term relevance. Taking sustainable actions to reverse environmental damage on the planet is a responsibility shared by everyone—homemakers, leaders, students, governments, universities, businesspeople, public officials, families, and society as a whole—as part of an ongoing journey called sustainability that is undertaken every day.<\/p>\n

The official launch is organized by The C-Class—an international community of business leaders founded by Naíke Hechem—and will take place on September 8, 2026, at the Club de Industriales in Mexico City. The launch in this initial country comprises a series of presentations across Mexico—including Guadalajara, Monterrey, and Mexico City—held at business forums and bookstores. He borrows a term from corporate finance to make the environmental case: “Earth Overshoot Day”. No household, company or government, he argues, can indefinitely sustain a model that consumes more resources than it generates.<\/p>\n
