AUGUSTINE, Fla. – September 21, 2026 – Tenacity Sports Performance is expanding individualized youth athlete development programs across St. Johns County, offering speed and agility training, sport-specific instruction, homeschool physical education, adaptive sports and performance analysis for athletes ages 4 to 17.

The expansion is designed to give families a training option that focuses on the individual athlete rather than relying solely on team practice. Programs are offered in St. Augustine, Nocatee, Ponte Vedra, Julington Creek and nearby communities, with small-group sessions held at county parks and private and team training scheduled separately.

Tenacity Sports Performance is also an approved Step Up For Students provider for speed and agility, sport-specific training, homeschool PE and adaptive sports.

“Every athlete develops differently,” said Rob Erickson, founder and coach of Tenacity Sports Performance. “Two athletes can be the same age and play the same position but have completely different strengths and limitations. Our job is to identify those differences, coach the athlete in front of us and show families what we are working on and why.”

Tenacity’s approach is built around a simple distinction: practice is for the team; training is for the individual athlete. Team practices must address systems, plays, assignments and group execution, while individual and small-group training can devote more time to movement mechanics, position-specific skills and the physical qualities that may limit an athlete’s performance.

Sessions remain intentionally small so athletes can receive individualized instruction and correction. Erickson has coached youth athletes since 2010 and holds IYCA speed and agility specialist and NFHS credentials, including adapted-coach certification. He also completes Florida Level 2 background screening.

Technology is used to support the coaching process. Electronic timing systems, high-frame-rate video and slow-motion movement review allow coaches and families to see measurable performance data and specific movement patterns. Tenacity’s runner analysis uses multi-angle video and a written report that can serve as a performance baseline and help guide future training.

“The technology does not replace coaching,” Erickson said. “It gives us better information to coach from. When an athlete and a parent can see what happens in a sprint, the work gets specific.”

The expanded programming also includes options for families whose needs do not always fit a traditional club or team model. Homeschool PE combines structured physical education with movement skills and age-appropriate fitness, while adaptive sports sessions can be modified around an athlete’s abilities, goals and physical needs.

“Sports and physical development should not be limited to athletes who fit neatly into a traditional program,” Erickson said. “If an athlete needs the environment or the drills modified so they can participate and progress, we want to coach that athlete.”

Parents, coaches and youth organizations can learn more about Tenacity Sports Performance programs at tenacitysp.com or call or text 904-494-8384.

About Tenacity Sports Performance

Tenacity Sports Performance is a founder-led youth training practice serving St. Johns County and the greater Jacksonville area.
