Legion Brewing Wins Silver at 2025 World Beer Cup – Celebrates 10 Years as a Pillar of Charlotte’s Craft Beer Scene
CHARLOTTE, NC – May 14, 2025 – Legion Brewing Company proudly announces that Sláinte, its Irish Dry Stout, has earned a Silver Medal at the 2025 World Beer Cup — one of the most prestigious global beer competitions. This latest recognition marks Sláinte’s third major competitive award, going with its Silver at the 2018 World Beer Cup and Gold at the 2023 Great American Beer Festival. Together, these accolades cement Sláinte’s reputation as one of the most decorated beers brewed in Charlotte.
The win adds to Legion’s legacy of brewing excellence, following Hop Chiller’s Gold Medal at the 2022 Great American Beer Festival.

Founded in 2015 in Charlotte’s Plaza Midwood neighborhood, Legion Brewing is celebrating its 10th anniversary, highlighted by a series of events for fans and the broader community in the second half of the year. Legion’s four taproom locations remain vibrant and resilient, even in a challenging hospitality environment. New menus have launched at each location under the direction of renowned Executive Chef Gene Briggs, formerly of Blue in Uptown, Charlotte. Looking ahead, Legion is preparing to open its fifth and largest taproom to date, continuing to meet demand while deepening its roots in the Charlotte community.
